MATHS WORKSHOPS IN ENGLISH FOR CHILDREN

Thanks to an agreement between CS Languages and Innovamat Education, starting from the 2024/2025 school year, new maths workshops in English have been launched for preschool children, offered as part of the ispeakstem project.

The goal of this project is to help preschool children develop age-appropriate maths skills through games, hands-on activities, and experimentation, while simultaneously building their English language skills.

The Innovamat program is rooted in a deep understanding of mathematical content and emphasizes the development of learning processes. Its teaching philosophy is based on competency-based learning, discovery, and hands-on exploration, with the students playing an active role.

The Innovamat approach for preschool children includes two main components: “workshops“, which are teacher-led sessions focused on exploring content and learning processes through experiential activities, and “spaces“, where children build and apply knowledge through play, supported by the teacher as a learning facilitator. To support learning, additional resources are provided for both the class group and individual students.

Within the ispeakstem project, the Innovamat program is enriched by the use of English as the language of communication between teacher and students, following a CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach. This method integrates the learning of subject content with the acquisition of a second language. As a result, children not only develop mathematical knowledge, but also improve their English language skills — expanding vocabulary (including maths, science, and technology-related terms), comprehension, and active communication in English throughout the activities.
